The Best of the Portals of Prayer

Read: 1st Peter 5:6-11 // Psalm 37

“Casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.”
1st Peter 5:7

He Cares About Me

There are many things that cause people to be anxious or to worry. Perhaps they do not feel well, or they are having some kind of trouble. Perhaps they cannot afford some things that they really need, or they don’t know what to do in a certain situation. Often, people are troubled because of their sins; they are afraid that God will not forgive them. All these things we call anxieties or cares because they make people worry whether God still cares about them and whether He will continue to take care of them.
Christians often make the mistake of imagining that they must bear their burdens alone. They forget the Lord’s invitation, “casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.”
Our heavenly Father dearly loves His children and wants to help them with their cares and burdens. That is why He sent Jesus into this world to take the guilt of their sin by becoming our substitute. He is also willing and able to take care of all our other needs and problems if we will only bring them to Him as children to their father.

Dear heavenly Father, help me to cast my cares upon You, confident that You will grace me with Your peace and forgiveness. Amen.
