The Best of the Portals of Prayer
Read: John 3:11-21 / Psalm 132
“Jesus suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.”
Hebrews 2:9
No One Left Out
Who has not felt the sting of being left out of a ball game, passed up for a promotion, snubbed for a date, turned down for a marriage proposal, left out of a person’s legal will; feeling that you’ll be forgotten by history? We may possibly have been on both sides of the coin in these examples. Though we may never do something like this on purpose, but, could we possibly pay attention to the needs of everyone whose plight comes to our attention? A person would have to be to God to exercise that kind of love and concern
The Good news is that our Lord is exactly like that: so awesome that He not only knows the needs of every human being – without exception – but also that He cares! He cares, not just to the point of remembering, he goes beyond that to doing something about it. As St. Paul tells us in 2nd Corinthians 5:19; “In Christ God was reconciling the world to Himself”. This is what God did – He remembered – He acted!
Thank You, Father, for remembering even me when You gave the gift of eternal life through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
