The Best of the Portals of Prayer

Read: 1st Peter 3:8-22 // Psalm 26

“Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight”.
Romans 12:16

Agreeing with One Another

Generally, we like to have things done our way. It is hard to listen to others. We like to think that our way is the best – the only way. But it may not be the best. Others may have a good idea, possibly a better idea. They may suggest the best way out of a situation, the most workable plan. To insist on one’s way is not an agreement with the words of St. Paul: “live in harmony with one another.”
The least we can do is listen to one another before we insist on our own way. The Apostle Paul urges unity in our living with one another – agreement with others, willingness to accept what they suggest, working together, and sharing.
God has worked out our salvation in Jesus Christ, and it is not belittling to let Christ’s atoning work bear fruit in us. We do need Christ. As there is unity between us and Christ, so may we develop unity between ourselves and those with whom we live and work.

Lord Jesus, may we live together in the bond of unity. Amen.
