“Making Evil Good”
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
[Romans 8:28]
This is the work and skill of God, to make evil matters good when we have spoiled and harmed matters. Certainly, I have often done many things imprudently and foolishly, concerning which I was much disturbed later. Nor was I able to see how I might work my way out and extricate myself from matters that were being hampered by my folly. But the Lord found a means and a way that the error might be corrected. God so governs His saints that even though they err and stray, the outcomes are nevertheless salutary, or at least without great loss. For all things work together for good to the elect and those who believe [Romans 8:28], even error and sin, and this is certain. For God is accustomed to make all things out of nothing, and so He can call forth and produce good from evil.
