Living By Faith
The Apostle Pail is here reminding us of a truth that we Christians dare not forget: to forge it, to misunderstand it, will constitute s serious loss for all of us. Christians do not live by sight. This fact does not mean we are to close our eyes to the world about us or to shut ourselves off from the world. We cannot blind ourselves to the realities of life. But it does mean that we cannot judge life by what we see around us. Life is something more than what is apparent only to our sight. Therefore, the Apostle says: “we walk by faith”. What is the faith by which we live? It is God’s Word. It is knowing that Jesus is the Word that is read and spoken. As John tells us – “Jesus is the Word.” It is this faith that gets us through the ups and downs through which we must trudge. God has said that there is no power that can pluck out of His hand. Living by faith, we need to have no fear. As we live by faith, we live to the glory of God.
Dear Lord, give me such a faith as this. Amen.
