The Best of the Portals of Prayer

Read: Revelation 7:9-17 // Psalm 33

“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands.”
Revelation 7:9

A Glorious Company

Today is All Saints Day, dedicate to the memory of all whom God has welcomed into eternal joy. Gathered around God’s throne, John saw a glorious company, drawn from every nation and race, dressed in white robes and singing praises to God and to the Lamb. They have been cleansed from sin by the blood of Jesus. They have been delivered from all troubles, trials, and sorrows. Now they enjoy the endless bliss of heaven and delight in serving God. These are God’s saints, redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus.
Here if the blessed hope for all who have “washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the lamb” [Rev. 7:14]. Here on earth, we have our troubles and sorrows. But the Christian can face the future with hope and good cheer. For him the best is yet to come. One day, God will deliver him from all the evils of this life and welcome him into the glorious company of the saints in heaven.
