“God Hears and Answers”
“I called out to the Lord, out of my distress, and he answered me;
out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and you heard my voice.”
[Jonah 2:2]
We must feel that our crying to God is of a nature that God will answer, that we may glory with Jonah in the knowledge that God answers us when we cry to Him in our necessity. That means nothing else but to cry out God with the heart’s true voice of faith. The heart finds solace when it hastens to God, with the gift of the Holy Spirit, and seeks mercy amid wrath, lets God punish and at the same time comfort the sinner. Our heart has sharp eyes when it searches for the love of Christ, and yet, only a heart touched by God can see through His wrath. The crying of faith must feel in it’s heart that it is making contact with God.
