“Followers of Christ Can Bear Everything”

“My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.”
[Matthew 11:30]

Whatever there is of a cross or suffering to borne in our life, is able to be sustained. The yoke that Christ lays upon us is sweet, and His burden is light [Matthew 11:30]. When sin has been forgiven, and the conscience has been liberated from the burden and the sting of that sin, the Christian can bear everything easily. We can do this because everything within us is sweet and pleasant, and our soul will then willingly suffer all things for Christ. But when we go along in our own righteousness, then whatever we do and suffer becomes painful and tedious for us, because at that point we begin to suffer for Christ, we feel, in an unwilling manner. This becomes something for a Christian to think of, as they sit at a fire in the evening with their family, remembering the day past, and the day to come.
