“Christ’s Kind Heart”
“Consider Him who endured from sinners such hostility against Himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.”
[Hebrews 12:3]
Press on through to look at Christ’s kind heart, how it is full of love toward you, love which compels Him to the difficult task of carrying your conscience and your sin. In that way your heart delights in Him, and the confidence on your faith is strengthened … when your heart has thus been established in Christ, and you have become an enemy of sin out of love, and not of fear of pain, then the suffering of Christ should further be an example for your whole life, and you should reflect on that suffering in a different way … Christ’s suffering must be dealt with not in words and pretense, but in our lives and in truth. Thus, St. Paul admonishes us: “Consider Him who endured from sinners such hostility against Himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.” [Heb. 12:3] St. Peter also writes: “As Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same way of thinking” [1st Peter 4:1].
