“Christ for Us”
“But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sons.”
[Hebrews 12:3]
Look and see what superabundant riches the Christian faith has for us! All these works and the suffering of Christ Jesus are given to the Christian to become His own, so that he may rely on them as if he had done them himself and they were his own. As has been said; “Christ did them not for Himself, but for us.” He had no need of them, but amassed the treasure for us, so that we can cling to it, believe it, and possess it. Moreover, such faith brings with it the Holy Spirit. What more should God do? How could a heart refrain from being free, joyous, eager, and willing in God and Christ?
