“To Live as a Christian”
“Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
[Romans 12:19]
What people do not want to tolerate, nor forgive, hatred and envy will certainly follow. They cause quarrels and strife, so that we have no peace and rest among one another, but bite and scratch, making our lives oppressive and bitter. There is so much displeasure, strife, and war on earth, and this is the fault of the vile evil of having no love among one another, but letting that hatred move us to wrath against us. Now if you want to live as a Christian, and have peace in this world, then you must not allow vile and anger to make room in your heart. You must accomplish good through gentleness and peace, patience and calm, as hostility and strife finds there is no longer a home among us.
