The Best of the Portals of Prayer
Read: Acts 14:8-18 // Psalm 19
“And God saw everything that Had made, and behold, it was very good.”
Genesis 1:31
Alive – To the Physical World
To see the physical world through the eyes of faith is to see the Creator behind the creation, and to stand in awe at the magnificence and mystery of it all. The Psalmist saw the glory of God in His creation. The poetically inclined person sees God painting the sunset in radiant colors. The observant Christian sees the beautiful world around him as a reflection of the love and concern of His maker.
But, often, we walk as though we are blind and deaf to the messenger of God’s love in creation. Much beauty escapes as our insensitivity shuts out the messages God is sending through the sun, the moon, the stars, the clouds, the wind, the rain, the flowers, the birds, the animals, and every living thing that proclaims – if we listen – the greatness of our Creator. God made us, they all say it. When we hear this, we rejoice, for God’s word is very, very good.
The more we learn about God’s wonderful world around us, the more our faith must grow. After all, He the Almighty – the maker of heaven and earth.
For the beauty of the earth, for the wonder of each hour, Lord, we thank You. Amen.
